Dr. R. Gordon Karker has been practicing dentistry since 1984, and has specialized in orthodontics exclusively since 1990. He received a Bachelor's degree in Zoology from Olivet Nazarene University and earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Southern Illinois University. He went on to complete his orthodontic residency at Emory Univeristy. In addition, he served as a dental officer in the U.S. Air Force for 13 years. Dr. Karker was on staff at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta for 5 years as the Director of Orthodontics at the Center for Craniofacial Disorders before going into private practice.
Dr. Karker is Board eligible by the American Board of Orthodontics. He is a member of several professional organizations including the American Dental Association and the Georgia Dental Association.
Dr. Karker grew up overseas with his missionary parents and four siblings in South Africa and Lebanon. He and his wife, Carol, have two children. Away from the office Dr. Karker volunteers his time at his church and enjoys bike riding, wood working, and travelling to Indianapolis to visit his grandchildren.
