Dr. Norman J. Nagel has practiced his dental specialty of orthodontics in the Conejo Valley for over 40 years. He recognized the area as a safe, family-oriented community – important to a father of four young children. With offices in Thousand Oaks and Simi Valley, Dr. Nagel has continuously provided quality orthodontic care ("braces") to his patients – children as well as adults.
Dr. Nagel received his education at Valparaiso University (Indiana) and earned his Bachelor of Science, Doctorate of Dental Surgery, Masters of Science and Certificate of Postdoctoral Training (Orthodontics) at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Following his formal education, he interned at the U.S. Naval Hospital in San Diego, California and completed his military active duty in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Dr. Nagel remained active in the military, completing 38 years as a reserve officer with the Naval Reserve and California Army National Guard. He retired from the Guard in 2002 as a Colonel.
Dr. Nagel is certified in "Clear Aligner Therapy," which includes Invisalign, providing "invisible" braces to those patients that are able to wear the popular removable appliances.
He has also been active in the community and his profession. He has served as an elected Trustee for the Community Colleges of Ventura County and is a Past President of the Thousand Oaks Rotary Club. In dentistry, he is a Past President of the Santa Barbara-Ventura County Dental Society and the California Association of Orthodontists. He has served as the President of his congregation at the Redeemer Lutheran Church and is currently a member of Ascension Lutheran Church. He has consulted for VAMC Los Angeles and Sepulveda and is currently a lecturer at the UCLA School of Dentistry.
