Dr. Miryam S. Miyamoto has been practicing orthodontics in Santa Clarita for over 20 years. She is a local of Santa Clarita Valley herself, married and mother of three children. She continues to stay active in the community by donating to school fundraisers and sports sponsorships.

“Orthodontics is my passion. I had wanted to be an orthodontist since I was eleven years old. But becoming an orthodontist was not easy; in the 1980’s, orthodontics was primarily a man’s world. Luckily, that is not so anymore.

Almost 50% of all orthodontic residents today are female, but when I was pursuing this career, only 2% of women were accepted into any orthodontic program. Such tough competition taught me how to handle life in a humble way – ‘in style with a smile.’ I also learned to always be thankful for everything. I am constantly striving to improve myself, my family, and my staff. All of these efforts are reflected in the way that my staff and I serve our patients.”
