Dr. O’Neill completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California at Berkeley in 1973. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from the University of the Pacific, School of Dentistry in 1976. He practiced as a general dentist from 1976-1979 in Santa Clara, California where he developed a love for endodontics. He left practice in 1979 to pursue advanced training in endodontics. He received his Certificate in Endodontics and his Masters of Science in Dentistry (M.S.D.) degree from the University of Washington in 1981. Dr. O’Neill opened his endodontic practice in Roseville, California in 1981, and his second location in Auburn, California in 1983. He furthered his educational accomplishments by becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics in 1991. From 1999-2009, Dr. O’Neill taught part-time at the University of the Pacific, School of Dentistry as an Adjunct Professor of Endodontics to help pass on his years of endodontic experience to the pre-doctoral dental students.
Dr. O’Neill’s professional affiliations include the American Association of Endodontics, California State Association of Endodontists, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Sacramento District Dental Society, Placer Dental Academy, Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society, Flying Dentists Association, and the Sacramento Sheriff’s Air Squadron.
Dr. O’Neill is married and has four children. His many passions enjoyed with his family include racing (Nascar, Formula 1 and Karting), fishing (salmon, steelhead and trout), aviation (Private Pilot, Instrument Rating), SCUBA (Advanced Diver), and baseball (S.F. Giants).
