Award-winning PA Orthodontist Dr. Jason M. Hartman is a native of Berks County, graduating fifth in his class from Muhlenberg High School. While attending Muhlenberg High School, he earned 11 varsity sports letters and earned awards on county, district, state, and All-American levels. He received a Bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, graduating Magna Cum Laude. While at Muhlenberg College, Dr. Hartman was named to the Division III, Region 2 Academic All-America Football Team and was a founding member of the Theta Chi Chapter of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. After college, he worked as an analytical chemist for Johnson & Johnson, testing many of the products that are on pharmacy shelves today, including Tylenol, Motrin, and Imodium. During that year as a chemist, Dr. Hartman decided his desire to help others boost their self-esteem and confidence by improving their smile was his calling to dentistry.
Dr. Hartman then attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia, receiving his D.M.D. degree and graduating near the top of his class. At Penn, he received several awards, including the University of Pennsylvania Achievement Award for excellent performance on the National Dental Board Examination. He then completed a one-year general practice residency at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. It was during this year that Dr. Hartman discovered his passion for braces and orthodontics. He then spent an additional three years attending the prestigious Columbia University in New York City to specialize in orthodontics, receiving both a certificate in orthodontics, as well as a Master’s degree for his cutting edge research in the field. Dr. Hartman spent an additional two years in New York working as an orthodontist, enhancing the smiles of many adults and children, and even a few children of celebrities.
When not at work, Dr. Hartman enjoys giving back to the community by participating in charity events for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, the American Cancer Society, and the Lehigh Valley Speaks Autism Society. He recently founded the Hartman Scholarship fund, providing merit-based scholarships to local high school seniors attending college after high school. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing and skiing. PA orthodontist Dr. Hartman is also a diehard Philadelphia sports fan, cheering on the Eagles, Phillies, Flyers, Sixers, and Union.
He and his wife, Kirby, are parents to four children, including a set of twins. Parenting has brought Dr. Hartman his proudest and fondest moments!
