Dr. Anita Stavin Barr is a board certified orthodontist. She completed her undergraduate education at Vassar College, earning her degree in Neuroscience and Behavior with a minor in Chemistry. She was also inducted into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society for her exceptional academic performance. Dr. Barr received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Stony Book University School of Dental Medicine, where she graduated top of her class. While in dental school, Dr. Barr received multiple accolades. She was the recipient of the New York State Dental Foundation Dean’s Award, The School of Dental Medicine Alumni Award of Excellence, and the highest honor of being inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. After dental school, she received her orthodontic certificate from Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, where she learned the latest techniques and treatment advances for patients of all ages. She had the privilege of being the Chief Resident in her final year of residency. Dr. Barr has trained extensively in several aspects of orthodontics, including interceptive treatment of young children, comprehensive treatment of adolescents and adults, Invisalign, as well as surgical orthodontics. She regularly attends local and national conferences, seminars, and continuing education courses to stay up to date on the latest developments in the field. Even more impressive than her outstanding academic achievements is Dr. Barr’s extraordinary bedside manner with both children and adults. A very friendly, caring and compassionate person, Dr. Barr is committed to delivering the highest quality of care for her patients. Additionally, Dr. Barr has an artistic eye with keen attention to detail to help enhance aesthetic outcomes of treatment. Dr. Barr lives in Katonah with her husband and two daughters. She loves to give back to the community and is a member of the Somers Lions Club. The most remarkable volunteer project she has been a part of is participating in a month-long dental outreach in rural Kenya, providing dentistry to people without access to care.
