Dr. Bal is a native of Canada. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Organic Chemistry at the University of Toronto. He attended Case Western Reserve University Dental School in Cleveland, Ohio where he received a number of scholarships, academic and clinical awards. He graduated at the top of his class and therefore was inducted into, and is a lifetime member of, Omicron Kappa Upsilon, an academic dental fraternity. After graduating dental school in 1997, Dr. Bal was accepted a residency program at The Cleveland Clinic where he became proficient at providing dental treatment to medically compromised patients including those with cardiac, cancer, and transplant conditions. He graduated in 1998 and received his Certificate in Endodontics from Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia in 2000. Honoring his wife’s desire to return to California, he joined Endodontic Associates in 2001 and made Sacramento his home.
Dr. Bal chose endodontics because of his desire to help patients, relieve their pain, and retain their natural dentition. He believes educating patients about their treatment plans and options is key in the decision-making process. In 2009 Dr. Bal obtained certification in oral sedation dentistry through the DOCS course.
He met his wife in dental school and they have 4 wonderful children. As busy family man, most of his free time is spent with his wife and four children. His interests include cars, movies, hiking, computers/electronic gadgets, and learning to play golf.
